2 year old plants
This is the Aurora Borealis of blueberries because of its Nordic-like cold tolerance. The AURORA begins to ripen the later part of August and will continue producing until fall frost. The medium-sized berry is a Scandinavian blue; their distinctive tartness tells you that they are perfect for baking pies and muffins and serving up breakfast pancakes smothered in maple syrup—with or without a side of bacon. They might be the perfect candidate for a freezer campaign after the craziness of summer is over and the need to stock up on anti-oxidants for the winter hits you. Once frosts descend, the plant shows off its red and crimson foliage.
Zones 5-8.
