Bunchberry is a fast spreading ground cover that grows four inches to six inches tall with erect stems. The flowers are smaller than most dogwoods averaging 1/2 inch to 1 inch across and are greenish-white or purplish in the center. The bracts are creamy white and in the autumn, scarlet red berries appear. Foliage in the summer is dark green with stripes of burgundy and in the fall the foliage turns to a burgundy color and fruits are a brilliant red. The foliage is long-lasting and is an easy plant to grow. Hardiness Zones 3-8.
