Its interesting name means “one year” when translated from Japanese to English. It will bear long, sweet fruit (1-3/4″ in diameter). Hardiness is problem with this female cultivar. It does best where temperatures do not fluctuate drastically. No male is needed for pollination. Without a male, the fruit is seedless; however with a male the plants will produce more fruit. It is recommended to plant with a male Meader Kiwi for larger fruits. Hardiness Zones 5-8.
