1. Low Chill highbush type cultivar.
2. The height of mature plants is 5 ½ to 6 feet and semi upright in stature.
3. Ripening is early midseason.
4. Plants are highly productive compared to other cultivars. Plants consistently yield 12 to 15
pounds per plant.
5. Fruit size is large 1.7 to 2.5 grams. The fruits ripen uniformly and exhibit concentrated ripening.
6. Fruits are rated as having the finest flavors, very sweet refreshing aromas.
7. Fruit quality is excellent. Fruits are light blue in color with excellent firmness. The fruits have a
long – term fresh shelf life. New Hanover fruits are award winning of all berries in all fresh
markets.
8. Harvesting can be done by hand or mechanically. The loose clusters of fruits are concentrated
ripening, well adapted for mechanical harvest of the firm fruits.
9. Flowers are self – fertile, producing abundant pollen.
10. The plants exhibit resistance to Stem Blight (Botryrosphaeria corticis) and Stem Canker
(Botrtryosphaeria dothidea).
