Pingo De Mel
The inside flesh is golden, the color of honey. The outside flesh is deep green in color when ripe and the skin resists
cracking during rainfall unlike many figs that are grown commercially or in a garden. The plants can be
grown in a container or outdoors. If grown outside in the soil, the plants can grow up to 20 feet tall, in
containers, best to keep them no more than six feet tall. The fruits are acceptable size, slightly larger
than a golf ball. The bushy plants yield up to 150 figs on a six feet branched plant, so very productive.
Plants are cold tolerant to USDA Zone 6.
