Trentberry is a southern hybrid blueberry, created by George Melcher of Pineville Louisiana. The plant was selected for the deep black color, high aromas, and sweetness reminiscent of a wild blueberry. The inside flesh is reddish, an indication of its potential phytonutrient value.
The plants are multi-stemmed and will grow to six feet at maturity. Plants are vigorous and appear to have good resistance to insects and fungus diseases. The plants prefer full sun for best yields, although they can tolerate partial shade. USDA zones 6 to 10.
