Storm Lake
Storm Lake – The plant was selected by Hartmann’s from seed collected at Dolly Sods area in West
Virginia by Harry Swartz. The plants were located on the southeast side of Mt. Storm Lake located in
Dolly Sods at an elevation of 3,000 feet. The plants grow to a height of 8 inches and spread by
underground rhizomes, a low growing ground cover blueberry. Fall colors are bluish gray changing to
fiery red in the autumn. Fruits are very small but are intense with flavor. Plants are very drought
tolerant.
