Jonkeer Van Tet is a productive Dutch red currant variety. The plants are medium in vigor with and upright growth habit. Harvesting in Southwest Michigan occurs in mid-July with all fruits ripening at the same time.
The quality of the fruits are very firm and can be stored for more than 12 days at 34 degrees F. The fruit and cluster size is acceptable for the markets with a mild acidity. Yields are high, up to 8 pounds per plant, and higher when the branches are trellised. Plants are not resistant to powdery mildew. USDA Zones 4-8
