SUCCESS JUNEBERRY
Amelancier alnifolia
Success was the first named Juneberry cultivar, released in 1887 from the State of Illinois. The fruits are flavorful reminiscent of a sweet pear with hints of a juicy apple.
The berries are good size, more than 3/8’s inch in diameter or about 60 berries in a cup. The plants can grow to 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide and will yield a good crop averaging 15 pounds of berries per plant. Plants will grow successfully in Hardiness Zone 3-7.
