Description

ELIZABETH BLUEBERRY

Vaccinium corymbosum

Named after the famous Elizabeth White, a blueberry expert. After the turn of the century, Miss White headed research of blueberries and she searched the eastern United States for the most flavorful berry. She never found one with flavor she wanted, so she hybridized two of the best-flavored cultivars and so became Elizabeth Blueberry. This bush grows to a height of 5 feet tall and will produce up to 15 pounds of nickel-sized berries.

The highly aromatic scent of this fruit only serves to enhance its sweet flavor. Elizabeth is said to be the best tasting mid-late season of all blueberries and huckleberries. Miss White was famous for choosing varieties for their authentic blueberry flavor. With that in mind, this plant was given the name Elizabeth to honor her expertise. Hartmann's Plant Company exclusively offers this plant for sale for the first time in 40 years! Plant will grow successfully in Hardiness Zones 4-8.
